| Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow
It seems that Wisconsin is living up to the term "Winter Wonderland" with inches and inches of snow. All of the client dogs at Green Grove kennel enjoy getting out and playing in the deep drifts of the play yard, and then coming in and relaxing in the heated Luxury Suites. All the shovelling is getting wearisome, however, and I think the kennel staff is ready for Spring!
The weather has also been a problem of our obedience class schedule - forcing us to cancel classes several times, due to bad weather and road conditions. Besides the roads, classes have been really well attending with many new clients joining the Green Grove training gang. New sessions will start in March.
Margo still has some grooming openings.....so, if your dog needs a bath or clip, give her a call at 920-273-0243. |

| HOME for the HOLIDAYS
Some of you may have noticed added hustle and bustle about the kennel the past few weeks. That's because Bob and I have moved back home in time for Christmas. As most of you know, we had been caretakers at a local property for a friend, and had kennel caretakers in our house....well all things worked out that our house was empty at the same time that the caretaker status changed for us - so, we decided to move back home!
It has been a whirl of painting, cleaning and prepping, but we are back in our little house at N2211 Frontage Rd, Oostburg. I think the dogs (especially the collie girls) are really happy to have us back.
We are looking forward to hosting a staff Christmas party at our OWN house!
We feel like we will be able to continue to provide careful monitoring and attention to our "canine guests" by being back on site 24/7. Julie and Bob |

| Winter is coming!
The weather is getting colder and the days are getting shorter, as we approach the Holiday Season. This means that things are really busy around Green Grove. The boarding kennel is filling fast - with reservations for Thanksgiving and Christmas travel plans. Staff is busy winterizing and getting ready to make your pets really comfortable during their Holiday stays with us.
The Agility League is in full swing. This year we had a bumper turn out with 9 teams competing for the cash prizes. The League wraps up on December 6 with a Pizza Party and the awarding of prizes at the Training Center. A special thanks to Brian Wiegand for all of his hard work with the League - all the comments I have heard have been positive!
Classes are busy and we will have CGC testing on Wednesday, December 5 and Monday, December 10 - Feel free to join us, but you need to call ahead for a testing spot. The cost for CGC testing is $5 if you are not in a class - and it is included for all taking the Canine Manners Class.
Margo is grooming busily and be sure to make your Holiday grooming appointments early....or you may not get in. She grooms Tuesday - Fridays at our Cedar Grove location.
We look ahead and hope that each of you has a peaceful and joyous Holiday season.....
New classes in both agility and obedience will resume after the New Year - the week of January 7, 2008
Happy Holidays, Julie and Bob |

| Romping in Rockford - Fun in St. Louis
Bob and I just returned from a week of judging carting. First we headed to Boone County Fairgrounds in Rockford, IL to judge the Carting Test for the American Bouvier des Flandres Club. It was a great day - 6 entries and all 6 dogs passed their tests and earned Carting Titles. Then we headed to Purina Farms in Grey Summit, MO to judge the Carting Championship Trial for NAWBA (North American Working Bouvier Association). There we also did a carting clinic and met lots of really interesting folks and their dogs. It was a busy, but enjoyable week and we want to thank our hard working staff who made it possible for us to get away for a week. It was nice to get home, though, to our wild and crazy schedule here! Thanks, Julie and Bob |

 | Kid's Camp 2007
WOW! Summer must be drawing to a close - we just finished our second Kid's Camp of the season. Camp ran August 14 -17 and we had a GREAT time. Kids and their dogs participated in agility, improved their obedience skills, learned to walk a Rally course, tried carting with their dogs and even got to give the dogs a ride in the kayak. It was alot of fun and I thank each of our campers! Julie |

| Show Season in Cedar Grove
Well, it was a fabulous weekend here at Green Grove K9 Center. The Fox Valley United Dog Club rented our facility last Saturday and Sunday to host a UKC Conformation Dog Show Weekend. It was great weather, lovely dogs, friendly people and tons of fun.
Green Grove K9 were well represented at the show. On Saturday, Tonya Long - one of our kennel techs - was Best Junior Exhibitor. Bonny (Ch Aspen's Bonny Lass o Green Grove) my smooth collie won the champions class to become a Grand Champion. Two of our German Shepherd girls - Mia (Green Grove's Purple Rose o Cairo) and Katie (Green Grove's Bringing Up Baby) each won Best of Breed over the weekend. The bestest excitement was on Sunday when Bonny's daughter, Willow (Ch Green Grove's Wind in the Willows) won BEST IN SHOW!!!! Congratulations to Julie Fait and all the Green Grove clients on their great performances over the weekend.

| Hey! What's up with the sign?
Going Out of Business? NOT GREEN GROVE KENNEL! WE’RE IN IT FOR THE LONG HAUL!
Observant area residents have noticed the “For Sale” sign posted recently at our boarding kennel location at 2211 Frontage Road, Oostburg. And they’re asking if we’re going out of the dog boarding business. Long-time kennel clients are also concerned that their pets might be looking for a new place for overnight stays!
That’s not the case! We are planning to relocate the kennel facilities on a property more suited to our needs. The Oostburg location – right off I-43 – is an ideal spot for a more commercial enterprise, such as a gas station, mini-mart, etc. (If you know of anyone interested in buying, please give them a heads-up!) Meanwhile, we are considering several nice properties in the area and hope to make a decision in the near future.
During the interim, boarding operations will continue as usual at the Frontage Road location. When we do make the move to a new property, we anticipate doing it quickly with minimal disruption for our loyal clients.
Green Grove Canine’s Future Plans In addition to a proposed new boarding kennel location, we are also into dog activities big-time at our Green Grove Canine Center at 250 N. Commerce Street, Cedar Grove. We opened there in September, 2006, and offer retail merchandise, grooming services and daily doggie play care as well as a wide choice of afternoon and evening dog training classes.
Any Questions? Call 920-564-3939 Please talk to us with any other questions you might have. We appreciate the patronage of our many loyal clients and will look forward to serving the needs of you – and your dog(s) - in the years ahead! During this time of change and remodeling, you can reach Julie on her cell phone – 920-535-0250. Thanks for understanding – Julie and Bob Cramer

| A Very Merry Howl-i-day
We are so happy to be our new training facility for our first Christmas season. It is rewarding to be a part of another small community as our Cedar Grove location flourishes at 250 N Commerce Street, right next to the Piggly Wiggly store. The shop is filled with plush dog beds, fuzzy fleece throws, toys, treats, crates and gifts for dogs and dog-lovers. The PlayCare program is busy, averaging play groups of six to eight dogs everyday for wintertime fun. The PlayCare program is offered Tuesdays - Fridays from 6:30am-6pm at the Cedar Grove location...and do we play hard! Training classes have been full all fall leading up to the Holidays and we are expecting to continue training activities after the New Year. It has surely been nice to get into a spacious, heated building for obedience and agility training classes.
We truly feel blessed to have been able to expand the business in 2006 and increase services to our Green Grove clients. Back at the kennel in Oostburg, improvements continue as well. We have recently put a new ceiling into our basic care building and added 2 new kitty condos to the cat room.
We look forward to a busy and rewarding 2007...and hope you will join us! Let us help you and your dog make some memories. Julie and Bob |

| Dreams do come true....
For many months, you've listened to me talk about the state-of-the-art, handicapped accessible, training center that's been the core of my dreams for a long, long time.
Dreams do come true. We are now open for business in our beautiful training center located at 250 N. Commerce in Cedar Grove.
From the granite-floored retail sales area, to the spacious training center... this facility will allow us to grow our programs and offer a wide range of training opportunities. Whether your four-legged family member is just that, or is also headed for competition in obdience, agility, rally, carting, or herding... we'll have a program to fit your needs.
I can't believe it is finally happening. Loop a string through my cloud or I just may float out over the lake!!!

| Sorry if we missed you!
As most of you know, both Bob and I are involved in rescue work through Great Lakes Search and Rescue. We are often called by state and regional law enforcement agencies to assist them in finding people, often children, who are lost, to help in crime scene investigation or in recovery. These are ALWAYS emergency situations and of the highest priority.
So if you've come to Green Grove expecting to see one of us, or to a class we normally teach and are disappointed or annoyed that we are not here, please put yourself in the other persons' shoes. How would you feel if the search for your missing two-year old had to be delayed for hours because the handler of the rescue dog was teaching a class?
It would be great if we could be cloned and be in two places at once, but that cannot be. We have surrounded ourselves with competent, versitile people who can step in and take over a class, or look after our boarders at a moments notice. Please be courteous to and cooperative with them. And we'll catch up with you the next time. |
